Billy the bard Shakespeare in Hamlet wrote brevity is the soul of wit, which is why the next few sentences are gonna be characteristically long. His full name: Hamlet Jaime Paredes. And he's one of the top rollers round the globe, has won international cigar rolling competitions, and worked at the famous Partagas tabacalera in Cuba before getting out of Dodge and hooking up with Rocky in 2015. Since then they've made several savory lines together including Hamlet 25th and Liberation, but the most impressive in my book is their original: Rocky Patel Hamlet Tabaquero. With dark, thick San Andres wrappers, double binders from Brazil & Mexico, and lush Nicaraguan long-fillers, these flavor bombs bring their A game. Each one is a nuanced journey: chocolate, coffee, and spicy/sweet goodness lay ahead. But the real feather in this deal's cap? The vintage factor. This sub-batch of "Hamlet Vintage" is different because it was rolled and boxed up between 4 and 5 years ago and has been resting in Rocky's aging rooms right up until a few weeks ago. We visited Rocky in Naples FL a few months back and rooted around in their humidor. RP is in the middle of a warehouse move so things were in flux and some old gems got unearthed.
