This is truly a treasure. Remember this brand? From Rolando Reyes Sr. in Danli, Honduras originally, Pirate's Gold was actually blended by Rolando Jr. and was a cult fave (later production shifted to the Dominican and it quickly faded). But what's old is new because Pirate's Gold Nicaragua recently launched and it's a sweet limited edition run hailing from - hence the name - Nicaragua. A totally different blend than the original and a total winner in its own right. Dare I say, superior. Classic Nicaraguan flavor profile, hearty, full flavored, aged tobaccos. The Connecticuts are classics that bring ample flavor in a mellow, medium-bodied, super smooth format, along with golden brown wrappers. The Maduros deliver a rich depth of flavor and natural sweetness with lovely dark 'n thick high priming wrappers. Totally outstanding value from head to toe. There are a total 15 great vitolas across the two blends (although but half of the sizes have arrived as of this writing) - ranging from 60-ring firecrackers to 7x38 Lanceros, to big ole Double Coronas, Figurados and Salamones. Scoop them up while you can and bask in the value. $2.45 per stick for this Nica goodness is beyond worth it.
