Then after a reported falling out, production shifted to the Dominican and quality took a hit and the brand soon faded. But today, it's completely re-blended and all new out of Nicaragua. So what's old is new because the old familiar Pirate's Gold name is back, the blend is VERY good, the factory is tip-top, and price per stick is perfect. A total winner if you like bang-for-the-buck. Classic Nicaraguan flavor profile, hearty, full flavored, aged tobaccos. The Connecticuts are creamy, mellow gems that bring ample flavor in medium-bodied, super smooth format, along with golden brown wrappers and aged Nicaraguan long-fillers. The Maduros deliver a rich depth of flavor and natural sweetness with lovely dark 'n thick high priming wrappers. Totally outstanding value from head to toe. There are a total 15 great vitolas across the two blends - ranging from 60-ring firecrackers to 7x38 Lanceros, to big ole Double Coronas, Figurados and Salamones.
